Hello from Hiroshima Hana Hostel. It's Kana here.Time flies...There are only few month to year 2016!!!!! I hope  I could enjoy rest of the year with all my family and friends..

There are many different kind of events are going on towards end of the year. Hiroshima Dreamination is one of them. It will be held for about 2 months and located in the middole of Hiroshima City.

So after sightseeing peace park, A-bomb dorm, museum and other sightseeing spots and visit dreamination with someone special!!!It is  gonna be so super romantic night!!
Of course good to visit with your friends to make your  friendship stronger!!!
This is only for winter season, so please visit there and enjoy beautiful dremination.I'm sure you will love them!!

About 30minutes by tram Hiroshima Station, only within 10 minutes walk from Peace museum!!

Hiroshima Food Festival 2014

Getting colder day by day, and　many leaves begin to turn red!!

Do you like Japanese food?
I guess Japanese restaurant is all over the world so everybody has opportunity to have them any time, but not LOCAL food.

This is for Japanese food lover! Why don't we try something local if you are in Japan!?
not like Tempura, Sashimi, which are available everywhere.

 

Hiroshima Food Festival is held every year.
Local dishes from across the prefecture will be available in one place during this two-day celebration of Hiroshima's culinary treasures.
The event will provide live stage entertainment in addition to featuring an amazing number of food stands offering the tastes of Hiroshima.

It wil be great opportunity to be an expert of WASHOKU!!

Just can't believe how time goes this fast...Only 2 weeks to 2014 !!

Let me introduce you one of exciting event in Hiroshima for New year's eve.
One of reason to suggest you all this festival is, it will be held in MIYAJIMA which is one of world heritage in Hiroshima.

"Chinka - sai"

 

is Fire Prevention Festival, takes place on the last day of the year in front of Itsukushima Shrine.

Local people make both large and small pine torches throughout the month of December. On the evening of the 31st, as twilight falls, families gather at the shore near the Otorii(Grand gate).

A fire torch is carried from the Shrine and all of the individual pine troches are lit. The larger pine troches are carried by 30-40 men on their shoulder's, while children carry smaller ones. As the troches intensely burn the coastline become a combination of fire and water as the people run about chanting "Yoi, Yoi."

 After the festival, the embers from the troches are offers to family alters as a good luck charm to prevent fire and to welcome the New Year.

Hiroshima HANA Hostel is located only few minutes walk from Hiroshima St, so get your JR pass and go to Miyajima! Only 25minutes by JR local train and another 10minutes by JR ferry.

Hiroshima Dreamination

From the 17th November to the 3rd of January. Everyday between 17:30 and 22:30

The festival is hosted by the Light-up Hiroshima Project Executive Committee and supported by all public and private broadcasters in Hiroshima as a winter night attraction in for residents and visitors. Every street in down town Hiroshima, together with the town squares are illuminated with a million and a half LED lights.

Hozuki Matsuri

On the 3rd weekend of July each year, a festival is held in celebration of the mysteriously beautiful “Hozuki” red Chinese lantern plant in the small suburb town of Ushita in Hiroshima city, Japan. Located a short bus ride (#6) from the city center, this festival is held along the pedestrianized main street in front of Ushita elementary school.  Although many of the city’s main festivals are held around this time of year this smaller festival has a fun, relaxed and friendly vibe.

Many of the festival goers wear Yukata summer kimono in the same fashion as the larger Tokasan or  Ebisu-ko festivals, but you will find it much easier to get through this suburban crowd and the lines are not half as long for games, drinks and food. There are also performances held at the different ends of the street. At the last festival, one stage had hip-hop dancing and Taiko drumming performances as well as a children’s Yukata contest. The other end didn’t have a raised stage, but live bands were playing in a roped off area. One classic 50′s rock n’ roll had the crowd jumping and dancing along with them- it was great fun.

Rainy Season looks like it will arrive on time.

The rainy season officially started in Okinawa on April 28, only two days earlier than last year, but 11 days earlier than the average; No doubt putting a worry on a few Golden Week vacations.

The rainy season is usually around 40-45 days long, so they postulate that it might well end around June 15. It would be great to get onto the business of summer so early, but it seems a bit optimistic as although we also had an early rainy season last year (officially starting on May 21), we didn’t get the all clear until July 8.
Any day now!!

We cannot wait to get on our Kimono's and head out into the streets for the Toukasan festival. We will not drink too much, we promise!
