Have you made any plan for X'mas and new year? I will spend my X'mas and new year with the guest who will come on those days at Hana!

Do you like Oyster? Oyster is one of well known and specialty local food in Hiroshima.
Of course I love it too. Fresh oyster, deep fried oyster, Boiled oyster, pan fried oyster with garlic butter and so on.
There are so many different kind of oyster dishes  in Hiroshima.

You can try all these oyster dishes at Mitsukoshi department store on the roof top. Also It's a BBQ style so you can cook your oyster by yourself. You can choose either Seafood set menu or Beaf, Pork and chicken set menu from 2500 yen p/p.
There are variety of oyster dishes available such as deep fried oyster, pan fried oyster from 580yen.
Don't worry about cold! There are many heater to warm you up or get HOT sake to keep you warm. I suggest Sake if you are old enough to drink it!

Hiroshima Oyster Road

It is freezing here in Hiroshima much more than last year. I can't stand for it any more already...missimg you, Summer...

Do you like OYSTER??? Oyster in Hiroshima is really famous in Japan. The best season for it is  in winter. So even though I do not really like winter, I can't wait  winter to have the oyster.
I strongly recommend one place for oyster lovers like me.

KAKIGOYA(Oyster house) is opened for only winter season.

It is located in Ujina area which is about 30minutes by tram from Hiroshima station.

At first, you need to pick up what you want. Oyster comes like this. So you can choose! Find big one!

There are many variety of sea foods, not only oyster!!

Such as Scallop, turban shell, prawn, eel and so on.

The best part is you can cook yourself!! It is great fun.

I went there 3 of us, and spent about 2000yen each and made us full and not feel like eating oyster for a while even I love it.
Please enjoy the best Oyster in Hiroshima!! You should NOT miss this opportunity!!

Hiroshima Oyster Road take up that mission.
There is Hiroshima Oyster Road in Ujina port.
You can have oyster at a reasonable price.

October was oyster's opening season. Try this place if you like oysters!

Its just a few minutes walk to Enkobashi street car stop from Hiroshima Hana.
Take No.5 tram all the way to the end of the line. Hiroshima Oyster Road is in the middle of Hiroshima Minato Park which is next to the Hiroshima port.

One of Miyajima’s specialities is oyster, and every year on the second weekend in February, some of the juiciest are served up at rock bottom prices.

Also music and other performances.
Held in front of the ferry port on Miyajima and in front of the Miyajima Aquarium.

The Oyster Festival season has come!!!


Hiroshima's biggest and oldest oyster festival attracts huge crowds looking for raw and cooked oyster dishes at very cheap prices. ( You can try Oyster Miso Soup, Oyster Ramen and Oyster Okonomiyaki etc.) They claim that this is the very best time of year to try the tasty bivalves, why not put it to the test.

There will also be Kagura and Taiko drum performances.
