Early-bird special @Shukkeien

Many people usually get around some spots:Peace memorial park,Hiroshima castle,some art museums and Sukkeien Japanese garden easily in one day.
Most of sightseeing spots in Hiroshima city,they open at 9AM.
As you know,August is the special month in Hiroshima because of the memorial day,Aug 6th,1945,so the Peace memorial museum is more crowded this month than usual. However,the Shukkeien Japanese garden in Hiroshima is opening their gates as early as 7 a.m. on this coming Saturday and Sunday,Aug 26th and 27th to host the tea ceremony. 
If you get up early and visit the  garden in early morning,I guess you will have enough time to visit other famous spots even on busy weekends.Have a fruitful day!

Jan.15th (Sun) Obukucha Tea Ceremony at Shukkeien

New Year's annual cultural event in Shukkeien garden will be held this weekend.

A chance to enjoy traditional new year’s tea in the tea house in Shukkeien Garden. Made with pickled ume plum, black beans and Japanese sanshou chillis, Obukucha is drunk in the hope of warding off ill health over the coming year.

April 4 (Sun) Cherry blossom viewing and tea ceremony

Join an informal tea ceremony under the cherry biossoms at Shukkeien Garden!

Forget you are right in the heart of the city there. This is one place were the somewhat unpredictable weather around the hanami season can actually add to the atmosphere.

You will see many different kinds of cherry blossom and there are over 100 cherry trees in the garden. You can enjoy cherry blossoms while drinking Japanese tea and there are sure to be some lovely kimonos on display at the tea ceremony.

Tea that brings people happiness!?

In Japan,there is tea that brings people happiness. It is called "Oobuku-cha" .The word "Oobuku",meaning "Big Happy" and "cha",meaning "tea". Oobuku-cha is drunk at the new years as a lucky tea.

At Syukkeien Garden(Hiroshima city),they will have a Oobuku-cha ceremony on 17th of January.Why don't you drink "Big Happy Tea"? The happy tea will warm you up and bring you happiness!!
