Miyajima SUNDANCE

SUNDANCE is an annual festival at the beach on Miyajima with world music and dancing.
There are people from all over the world enjoying world's music (Japan, the United States, South America, Asia, Africa, etc.), the world food and meeting new people.
There are nearly 1500 participants each year. It is getting established as a place of international exchange in Hiroshima.

The dancers who are performing on the main stage are working mainly in Hiroshima and those who sells food and drinks are also running shops in Hiroshima.

It is the 13th SUNDANCE this year.
And the third BUBBLE party is going to be on the main stage and it seems like getting more and more exciting!!

A Gion Festival in Onomichi will be held this coming Saturday.
It is one of Onomichi's three major festival and it has continued since the Edo period. The Santai Mawashi is the main attraction of the festival.People scramble 3 Mikoshis,portable shrine floats, and compete to obtain a special flag with each other. Why don't you visit Onomichi and enjoy the traditional festival this weekend?

Baseball game in Hiroshima in JUNE

Hello Konnichiwa from Hiroshima Hana Hostel, It's Kana here.
Hiroshima has just entered Rainy season and it is expected to last until Mid July...

If you come to Hiroshima during baseball game season, you will surprise how people in Hiroshima into Baseball game. We all crazy about Hiroshima baseball team "Carp"

Hana Hostel located only 5 minute walk away from Mazda stadium where baseball game is held.
Here is a schedule for baseball match in June in Hiroshima.

(The date in Pink is the day baseball game is held in Hiroshima

June:24th6pm, 25th2pm,26th1:30pm, 29th6pm, 30th6pm )

We sometime go and watch the game with the guest and other staff members at Hana Hostel .
We dress in red which is team color.  It is great fun and everybody will like the Carp at the end of the game!

☆☆Yassa festival in Mihara☆☆

Hello!!  It's coming Summer day by day!! This is Mayu from 

J-Hoppers Hiroshima!!

In Japan, It's really hot and wet in Summer... 

So, actually I don't like a Summer.

But, You can enjoy many events in here. It should be interesting for you.

I will introduce some summer festival.

YASSA FESTIVAL IN MIHARA 

YASSA is to call out encouragement to someone for cheer up.

They dance a YASSA dance, And make an outcry "YASSA!! YASSA!!"

There are 8000 dancer for 3 days. That's amazing!!

 

So... You can enjoy watching so many dancer and 

Japanese traditional music. And also at the final, It has a fire work

from the river. It should be great experience for you!!!!

PLACE: around JR MIHARA station

ACCSESS: 1,5hour from Hiroshima station by local train.

  30minutes from Hiroshima station by Shinkansen.
