Miyajima SUNDANCE

SUNDANCE is an annual festival at the beach on Miyajima with world music and dancing.
There are people from all over the world enjoying world's music (Japan, the United States, South America, Asia, Africa, etc.), the world food and meeting new people.
There are nearly 1500 participants each year. It is getting established as a place of international exchange in Hiroshima.

The dancers who are performing on the main stage are working mainly in Hiroshima and those who sells food and drinks are also running shops in Hiroshima.

It is the 13th SUNDANCE this year.
And the third BUBBLE party is going to be on the main stage and it seems like getting more and more exciting!!

Hello this is Hayateru from Hiroshima Hana Hostel.

Hiroshima has heavy snow and its extremely cold outside. I feel less going out on these days.

It was our first time to have "Sashimi party" last Thursday.  Many of our guests aski me where to have fresh sashimi and sushi. One of our great helpers is a professional Japanese chef so he held a party at Hiroshima Hana hostel.
It was a very good party.

We usually have Okonomiyaki party, and we plan to have that on 13th, 20th and 27th at this month!

 Hiroshima Hana Hostel is just a few minutes walk from Hiroshima station south exit and extremely convenient location for your trip in Hiroshima!!

Dec.31 (Sun) J-Hoppers Hiroshima New Year's Party 2012 !!!

It's been really busy towards the end of the year. Time flies so fast!!!

We are going to throw a New Year's Eve party on the 31st of December. We are going to have SUKIYAKI this time :):) And then we make some Toshikoshi Soba to celebrate the New Year! Toshikoshi Soba is a Japanese noodle dish which we eat on the New Year's Eve to wish for health and longevity in the year to come. And after the midnight, we will go to a shrine pray as well.

We still have some private rooms and dorm beds available for tomorrow. Book now and join us the fun New Year's party!

Feb. 3 (Thu) Eho-Maki Night

Why don't you join us, Eho-Maki Night at J-Hoppers Hiroshima!!?

February the 3rd is the official end of winter according to the traditional Japanese calendar.
Eating Ehou-maki on the day is one of the special traditional events which has become popular recently.

In Western Japan, people make giant Sushi rolls. It's believed if you eat an entire Sushi Roll facing towards the lucky direction of the year with NO SPEAKING, then you will get good fortune!


We will make Eho-Maki (Fortune Sushi Roll) and eat it facing the south-southeast with everybody together.

Let's have fun and get good fortune for 2011 with us!!!

Nov 28 (Sun) Cusco Cafe Anniversary

They're throwing open their doors and laying on the entertainment. You just have to go help them celebrate.

Cusco Cafe's anniversary party is always a lot of fun. You can count on a really international mix of people and, with kids very welcome, ages too.

They'll be cooking up a storm and providing live music, all food and drinks are ¥500.

We are going to have another Kakigori Party
this coming Wednesday!!!

We are going to make some other food as well.
Lots of guests joined last party and it is always great to share the good time together. And of course you will meet lots of people at the party and exchange your adventure tales with them!

Aug 18 (Wed) Kakigori Party!

We are going to have a KAKIGORI party
at J-Hoppers Hiroshima tonight!!!

KAKIGORI is shaved ice topped with flavored syrup. We just got a hand cranked machine and we would love to share the fun of making Japanese snow cones with guests! Also we are going to some food as well of course :)

The party starts at 19:00ish
Let's have summer fun together!!!
