Sep 18th to 20th Experience Japanese Cultural Activities on Miyajima Island!!


The Japanese Cultural Activities are held on Miyajima Island

--Tea ceremony, calligraphy class, cooking class with a great panoramic view--
We also have free space for resting, meeting and chatting with other people.

Note: Please come to Hiramatsu-chaya 10 minutes before classes. Please make a reservation for a cooking class at least 30 minutes before the class starts!!

Tea ceremony (1,000 yen. It lasts about 1h depending on the number of people)
It starts every hour from 9:00am till 17:00 pm (No tea ceremony between 12:00 and 13:00).
First, you’ll learn the basics of a traditional tea ceremony and then you’ll participate in one. Tea and Japanese sweets are served during the ceremony. Green tea will be served after the ceremony to cool down!! *Those who attend the ceremony once can take calligraphy class for 1,000 yen (300 yen off the original price). Reservations are NOT required. You can stop by anytime!!

Calligraphy class (1,300 yen. 1hour)
It starts from 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 13:00 pm, 14:30 pm, and 16:00 pm (1 hour/class).
You don’t need to bring anything and the art that you make in class is yours to keep!! Green tea will also be served after the class to quench your thirst!! *If you want to take another class, please let us know. We will arrange the next step for you and you’ll get a 200 yen discount! Those who take this class once can take a tea ceremony for 700 yen (300 yen off the original price). Reservations are not required, but it’s better to book in advance so you won’t be disappointed to know it’s fully booked.

Cooking class (1,500 yen for lunch class/2,500 yen for dinner class)
The lunch class starts from 10:00 am (about 1 hour 30 minutes). The dinner class starts from 15:00 pm (about 3 hours). Let’s enjoy making Japanese food and of course eating it!!
Menu for lunch class 18th and 20th Tempura Udon (Wheat noodle in soup with Tempura), Onigiri (Rice ball), Dessert
19th Spicy Yaki Udon (Spicy fried Okonomiyaki taste wheat noodle), Onigiri (Rice ball), Dessert
Menu for dinner class From 18th to 20th Teriyaki Chicken, Grilled fish, Dashimaki Tamago (Japanese rolled egg), Chawanmushi with Japanese clams (steamed egg hotchpotch), Cold Tofu, Radish salad with sesame dressing, Rice, Dessert

*Those who take the cooking class once can take a calligraphy class for 1,000 yen and a tea ceremony class for 700 yen. It’s better to book in advance so you won’t be disappointed if it’s fully booked.
